Today is the day!

The trip begins tonight with a red-eye flight to Boston. Today, Judy is running around town getting foccaccia, getting alterations on Ryan's suit done, and packing up some pasta sauce to bring to Ryan. So........we don't want hear any complaints about the "Scott factor." While Judy was busy preparing documents, boarding passes, flight schedules, & stocking the refrigerator anticipating Scott "vacationing" at our house while we are gone, my job was to figure out the details of watching the Giants playoff game against the Phillies tomorrow night. Well, it wasn't really my job, but it was the one thing that I was concerned about & planned. See....... contrary to popular belief, I contributed something. As of now, we are planning to cook dinner at Ryan's apartment in Boston while watching the game. Go Giants!

When we were planning this trip months ago, it never occurred to me that the Giants, not only would make the playoffs, but also might have a shot at going to the World Series. Of course, the last time they were in the World Series in 2002 did not turn out so well. We had a house full of people and 6 TVs going watching the Giants getting ready to win the Series in Game 6 until Dusty Baker came out and removed Russ Ortiz from the game and brought in Felix Rodriguez. I think we all know how that turned out. Needless to say, that was one of the biggest party ruiners of all time. The time before that, in 1989, the entire Marina District almost burned to the ground in the Loma Prieta earthquake, so maybe it's not a bad thing that we are not going to be here to see the games. Maybe it'll change our (the Giants) luck. In any case, let's hope that the following scene gets repeated 2 more times before this season is done!
